Teen Charged In Connection With Double Shooting In Stamford

A Stamford teen is behind bars on a half-million-dollar bond after being charged in connection with a summertime shooting that left two injured.

Members of the Stamford Police Department arrested John Carlos Montero-Delossantos of Harbor Street in Stamford on Friday, Nov. 23 in relation to the double shooting that occurred on June 23 on Durant Street.

That night, a fight started in the street as people were leaving a nearby party, Stamford Police Captain Richard Conklin said. 

Multiple gunshots were fired from a single perpetrator during this fight. Two juveniles, ages 16 and 17, were struck by the gunfire and received non-life threatening injuries.

Delossantos was charged with first-degree reckless endangerment, risk of Injury to a minor, unlawful discharge of a firearm, carrying a pistol without a permit, and two counts of first-degree assault. 

Delossantos is currently in police custody and is held on a $500,000 court set bond.
